𒊹︎Remember, it is your responsibility to take care of your tattoo once you leave the establishment.

𒊹︎If you have any questions about your tattoo or the healing process, please call or e-mail. Since I guarantee my work, I ask that you follow this advice on the care of your new tattoo and not your buddy’s.

𒊹︎A tattoo will normally take about 15-30 days to fully heal.

Use clean bed linens.

𒊹︎DO NOT let any pets or animals touch or lick your new tattoo. Wash hands after touching your pets before touching your new tattoo.

𒊹︎Before doing anything with your tattoo, make sure to wash your hands. With soap, thoroughly lathering your hands for at least 30 seconds before rinsing.

𒊹︎Remove the bandage after 4 days. Tattoos will ooze, this is a normal part of the healing process. All wounds need to breathe if they are to heal properly.

𒊹︎Wash the tattoo using a mild antibacterial soap and warm water (USING ONLY YOUR HANDS).

𒊹︎Take care to remove all traces of blood and plasma as this will cause scabbing.

𒊹︎DO NOT scrub the tattoo with a washcloth during the two week healing period. Pat it dry with a clean, soft cloth and leave it alone for 10-20 minutes. Let it dry completely.

𒊹︎Once dry, apply a very thin coat of RX AFTERCARE PRODUCTS to the tattoo only first two week, next 2 weeks use Lubriderm. Only use enough to make it shine, a little goes a long way.

𒊹︎Too much ointment traps germs into your new tattoo which can potentially lead to infection. There should be enough to keep the tattoo moist and to keep it from scabbing.

𒊹︎Do not re-bandage the tattoo.

𒊹︎Repeat the cycle of washing, drying, and applying ointment to the tattoo 2-3 times per day for the first week, then switch to a regular Unscented moisturizer (lotion/ petroleum jelly). Apply the lotion twice a day for the remainder of the two weeks.

𒊹︎DO NOT use a lotion that contains color or fragrance at all until the healing is complete. You must keep your tattoo moisturized!

𒊹︎When the tattoo is kept moist it doesn’t have a chance to form a scab but does form a thin membrane to protect the tattoo while it heals.

𒊹︎DO NOT PEEL your tattoo, you WILL PULL THE INK OUT!

𒊹︎You must keep your tattoo clean!

𒊹︎Take warm showers. Hot water (steam) opens the skin’s pores and can cause greater loss of pigment during the healing process.

𒊹︎DO NOT soak your tattoo, to include swimming, hot tubs, steam rooms, or even prolonged showers. Prolonged soaking can and will soak through the soft tissue turning it into a soggy mess and cause your new ink to flow down the drain.

𒊹︎Excessive sweating during the first week can push fresh pigment out as well. Refrain from scratching, picking or rubbing the tattoo.

𒊹︎Scrubbing with a washcloth can be very harsh on a tattoo and will cause your colors to fade. Disrupting the tattoo while it’s healing can also cause scar tissue. It is normal for the tattoo to become very itchy during the healing time. Just remember not to pick or scratch NO MATTER WHAT!

ENJOY YOUR NEW TATTOO!
